Kedarkantha is one of the most popular winter treks in Uttarakhand, offering beautiful Himalayan landscapes, dense pine forests, snow-covered trails and spectacular summit views. This 5-day Dehradun-to-Dehradun trek covers Sankri, Juda Ka Talab, Kedarkantha Base Camp and the Kedarkantha Summit.

Experience the breathtaking Kedarkantha Trek, one of Uttarakhand's most scenic Himalayan trekking experiences. Starting from Dehradun, the journey takes you through the beautiful mountain landscapes of Sankri, dense Himalayan forests, Juda Ka Talab and Kedarkantha Base Camp before reaching the spectacular Kedarkantha Summit at approximately 12,500 ft. The trek is designed with gradual altitude gain and comfortable camping stops, allowing trekkers to enjoy the Himalayan surroundings while preparing for the summit climb. The highlight of the journey is the early-morning summit ascent, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges. After reaching the summit, descend back toward Juda Ka Talab before completing the trek at Sankri and returning to Dehradun. D1 Dehradun → Sankri

Begin your Kedarkantha adventure with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Sankri, the base village for the trek. The approximately 200 km journey takes around 8–10 hours and passes through beautiful valleys, rivers, mountain settlements and forested landscapes. Upon arrival, check into your guest house/homestay, attend the trek briefing and prepare for the upcoming trek.

Meals: Dinner Stay: Guest House / Homestay, Sankri Trek: No trek – approximately 200 km drive Altitude: Dehradun ~640 m → Sankri ~1,950 m / 6,400 ft
D2 Sankri → Juda Ka Talab

After breakfast, begin the first trekking section from Sankri. The trail gradually climbs through beautiful pine and Himalayan forest trails. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and gradually gain altitude before reaching the picturesque Juda Ka Talab campsite.

Meals: Breakfast + Dinner Stay: Campsite, Juda Ka Talab Trek: Approximately 6 km | 4–5 hrs Altitude: Sankri ~1,950 m → Juda Ka Talab ~2,780 m / 9,100 ft
D3 Juda Ka Talab → Kedarkantha Base Camp

After breakfast, continue the trek toward Kedarkantha Base Camp. This is a relatively short but scenic ascent through higher-altitude terrain. The trail gradually opens up as you approach the base camp. After reaching the campsite, relax and prepare for the early-morning summit attempt.

Meals: Breakfast + Dinner Stay: Campsite, Kedarkantha Base Camp Trek: Approximately 2.5 km | 2–3 hrs Altitude: Juda Ka Talab ~2,780 m → Base Camp ~3,400 m / 11,150 ft
D4 Kedarkantha Base → Kedarkantha Summit → Juda Ka Talab

Start early in the morning for the most challenging and rewarding section of the trek. Climb steadily toward the Kedarkantha Summit at approximately 3,810 m / 12,500 ft. After reaching the summit, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and capture memorable photographs. Begin the descent through Kedarkantha Base Camp and continue toward Juda Ka Talab for the overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast + Dinner Stay: Campsite, Juda Ka Talab Trek: Approximately 12 km | 8–10 hrs Altitude: Base Camp ~3,400 m → Summit ~3,810 m / 12,500 ft → Juda Ka Talab ~2,780 m
D5 Juda Ka Talab → Sankri → Dehradun

After breakfast, complete the final trekking section by descending from Juda Ka Talab to Sankri. After reaching Sankri, board the vehicle for the return journey to Dehradun. The approximately 200 km drive takes around 8–10 hours. The trip concludes upon arrival in Dehradun.
